    Description

1886 ROYLES VICTORIAN SILVERPLATE SELF POURING TEAPOT RIBBED
The Royles Self-Pouring Teapot was invented by John James Royle and made by Doulton & Co. in 1886. Contable George Crabtree found it referenced in a book of patents as one invented by Jacques Raphoz (see Trivia below) in 1892 during the investigation of the murder of Percival Pollack ("The Glass Ceiling"). Add a photo to this gallery Jacques Raphoz is actually a member of the art department for Murdoch Mysteries. His name appears in the patent book as an in-joke.
