extremely stylish antique French
Art Deco
style silver plated coffee service includes a coffee pot, a cream pitcher and a sugar bowl, all authentic pieces from the actual
Art Deco
period. The handles, the finials and a part of the feet are wood. The interior of the sugar bowl and of the cream pitcher are lightly gilded. Each piece is marked with the maker’s marks of the “
Orfèvrerie
Gallia
” consisting of the image of a rooster on a shield above the name “
Orfèvrerie
Gallia
”. Each piece is also stamped with the
serie’s
number “5828”. The name
Gallia
was registered by
Christofle
to launch their “
Art Nouveau
” silver plate flatware collection. The prestigious grand hotel
Le Ritz
in Paris, as well as the mythic train, the
Orient Express
, were equipped with luxurious table settings of
Gallia
“
Art Nouveau
” and “
Art Deco
” flatware. This service is in very good condition with the exception of faint scratches on the outside and light signs of wear on the
silverplating
