    Description

    AR Qanhari Dirham of Amir Abd Allah I of the Habbarid Dynasty
    The Habbarids ruled Sind from the 9th to the 11th century. The region of Sind lies in the modern day regions of South Punjab and Sindh in Pakistan. The Qanhari dirhams also known as the Dammas were mostly struck principally at the cities of Multan, al-Mansura and al-Mahfuza.

    Billah Thaqqahu Abd Allah wa Nasirahu
    Rev:
    Allah -- Muhammad Rasul Allah -- Abd
    Translation: Obverse: In Allah trusts AbdAllah and through him is victorious. Reverse: Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. The name of the Amir Abd Allah is split on the reverse with Abd at the last line and Allah at the top of the center field. This is a relatively rare type issue of AbdAllah-I. (
