MODERNISTIC Wilcox Silverplate 4 Pc Coffee Service C1926 American Modern Styling

We are extremely pleased to offer a four piece coffee service in what is believed to be the Modernistic pattern by Wilcox Silver Plate Co. & W. M. Mounts as part of the international Silver Plate Co.  It dates circa 1926 - 1930.
This service is similiar to the Cubic pattern made by Gorham in 1927 and to a service shown on an advertising poster for Mulholland Modern Made Hollow Ware displayed at the Dallas Museum of Art and shown on page 29 of Modernism in American Silver, 20th Century Design.
It incorporates the major elements of the new American Modernistic concept featuring angular or triangular designs, bakelite accents, ebony knobs/handles, asymetrical shapes, etc.  This collector's set is virtually never found in the marketplace - it is the first we have had the privilege of owning in 37 years of operations.
In overall excellent condition, this service is not without imperfections.  We have included photos of the following:
The lid of the coffee pot is not attached to the hinge.  The center "ridge" of the spout has some nicks and there is a pinhead size ding on one of the panels
Ridges on the creamer appear to have shadows from excessive/incorrect polishing.  The bottom, near the base has a pinhead size ding and a small bump.  The base is slightly off; it wobbles slightly.
The covered sugar bowl also has slight shadows on the "ridges".
This coffee service is for the serious collector.  It will be the crown jewel of any American Modernistic collection or collection of unique American Silverplate.
Size:
Coffee pot is 10 1/4" tall to top of finial, 9" tall to top of handle, covered sugar bowl is 4 5/8" tall to top of finial, 6" wide from handle to handle, creamer is 4 1/8" tall and the tray measures 9 1/8" x 20".
