For sale is a Victorian silver plate embossed or repousse teapot or coffee pot by The Meriden Britannia Silver Plate Company. The base is also marked with Silliman's Silver ring Hard Metal. During the late 1800's Silliman's plating was advertised as the closest thing to sterling. The company claimed that the plate would last longer and the "sound" and "feel" of the plating would be identical to sterling. The high relief and highly detailed design is exceptional and features an overall floral pattern on the body and cover. The feet, handle and base of the spout all feature the same floral design. The details are superb. It stands about 13 inches tall and 9.5 inches wide measuring from the handle to the spout. We will supply additional information and pictures if the buyer requests such. We do not believe in Buyers or Sellers Remorse. If we sell an item for less than worth we will still ship as part of our agreement but if you purchase an item we expect you to live up to your part of the bargain. Please ask questions. We will gladly answer.
